Filippone - Organic Sicilian Fennel (Finocchietto di Sicilia)
An organic fennel with an intense aroma cultivated according to tradition in the Madronie mountains at 1,000 meters about sea level. Harvested by hand and packaged using artisanal methods which guarantee the quality and preservation of the aroma.
The so-called “seedsâ€? of the fennel plant (actually the fruits) are used mainly to flavor the tarallini (puglia), donuts or other homemade cakes and to spice sausage or porchetta, mulled wine or herbal tea. They are also part of the typical biscuit recipe of for a typical Piedmont biscuit, the finocchino.
